DUCK SHOOTING INCIDENT

TE AWAMUTU, Wednesday For shooting two grey duck on .1 Jagoon at Harepepe, Pirongia district, on May 1, without having a licence, a young man, V. N. Hopping, a rabliitef, was prosecuted in the Magistrate's Court to-day at the instance of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society. The evidence showed that a ranger, A. Dobson, found Hopping at the ]ngoon shooting near a licence-holder. "When questioned he claimed to have obtained a licence .at Pirongia the previous week. This was not trtto. defendant was fined £5 for using an automatic gun, and £5 for shooting Without a licence.
