SOCCER TEAM'S TOUR
LOSS OF £550 DISCLOSED MATCHES IN AUSTRALIA [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] "WELLINGTON, Tuesday The council of the New Zealand Football Association at a meeting this evening received a letter from Mr. W. A. Carlyle, the Association representative in Australia, advising that the ro r cent tour resulted in a loss of £550. It had been suggested, he said, that the New Zealand Association should share the loss, as it was thought the bast team available had not bsen sent. The chairman, Sir. F. Campbell, said there was no doubt that Australian football had improved, but the same could not be said of New Zealand. Everything should be done to encourage an interchange of visits between New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and other countries. It Would cost money, but the game in New Zealand would not go ahead until such tours were arranged.
