NGARUAWAHIA REGATTA
AFFAIRS OF ASSOCIATION [from our own correspondent] NGARUAWAHIA, Tuesday There was a large attendance at thd annual meeting of the Ngaruawahia Regatta Association last evening. Mr. J* S. Johnston presided. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The balance-sheet showed a net profit of £7O on the year's working and that there was a credit? of £l5B in the bank. Assets were set down as £1039. The report stated that the regatta had been very successful,particularly in the Maori and dancing events. Sir Frederic Lang was re-elected patron; Mr. A. Morris, president; and Mr. H. D. Sampson, secretary and treasurer. Seven vacancies on the executive were filled as follows: —•. Messrs; D. W. Thomas, W. Cavanagh, W. Johnson, J. H. Redpath, H. Morris, A. S. Sutherland, S. C. Read. It was resolved to establish a reserve fund and to buikl it up gradually to £SOO. The sum of £l5O will be paid into the fund as soon as arrangements are made with the trustees who will hold it. The object of the fund is to enable the association to meet any unforeseen loss arising from bad weather or other causes.
