MOTOR-CAR OVER BANK

OCCUPANTS' LUCKY ESCAPE [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] NEW PLYMOUTH. Wednesday Two motorists had a lucky escape when their car rolled down a 30ft. bank and came to rest upside down. Mr. M. J. Armstrong and his wife "wore returning by ear to Now Plymouth from Hawera, and had just passed Kent J'uad when a back tyre burst. The car skidded for several yards along a side road and finally Slipped over the edge of the road. It fell sideways and rolled over twice before it crashed upside down.

Though they were both dazed, the motorists were ablo to struggle out and make their way to the road, where thoy were found by a passing motorist. Sovero damage was done to the car, practically all the windows being broken, but neither of the occupants was touched by,flying glass. Mrs. Armstrong suffered shock and bruises, but Mr. Armstrong escaped unscathed.
