SWIMMING FACILITIES
PAPATOETOE REQUEST The provision of a swimming pool in the district was urged by tho Pa patoe too Chamber of Commerco in a letter received by the Papatoetoo Town Board on Tuesday evening. The letter stated that according to the information available, it was found that only about 30 per cent of tho scholars in tho upper classes at tho school coidd swim. It was desirable that a suitable pool bo formed in the vicinity ef tho school, where tuition could be given to scholars and nonswimmers. Tho chamber, it was stated, realised tho difficulties of finance and suggested that the board make application to the Minister of Internal Affairs lor a share of the art union proceeds. " The board decided to write to tho Minister forwarding a copy of the Chamber's letter.
