WORLD CRUISE PLANNED
TRIP OF 50,000 MILES QUEENSLANDER'S ADVENTURE A cruise round the world in a loft, canoe is being planned by Mr. Willis m Feldner, a Queehslander, who has had an adventurous is having a special type of canoo built at Cairns., Its carrying capacity will be limited to 5001b. He proposes to follow different shorelines and groups of islands on tho route. The canoo will have two watertight bulkheads, airtight water and food compartments, and other safety devices. The proposed route is from Cairns to New Guinea, the Celebes- Islands, tho Philippines, Formosa, Kamchatka, along the Aleutian Islands to Alaska, and then down the West Coast of America, through Canal, and up the east coast to New York. His biggest problem will be the crossing of the Atlantic, where Mr. Feldner possibly will have a convoy boat with food and water. From Eugland he intends to go through canals in France to tho Mediterranean, Suez .'Canal, Red Sea, India, East Indies and down to Thursday Island. 0k Tho 50,000-mile trip will probably take between five and six years. Mr. Feldner will navigate by compass and charts only.
