WARSHIPS' MOVEMENTS
THREE ON ISLAND CRUISES r_ Three warships, the Dunedin, Laburnum and Veronica, are now en route to the Pacific Islands on prolonged cruises. The Dunedin sailed on Thursday and the Laburnum and Veronica yesterday morning. The Dunedin is scheduled to return to Auckland on August 15, the Laburnum on September 16 and the Veronica on October 14. The Admiralty oil-tanker Niftnila went into dock yesterday morning for cleaning and painting. She came out in the afternoon, and returned to tlio anchorage in the stream. The cruiser Diomede will go into dock on Monday morning, in connection with her extensive refitting, and afterwards the Nucula will be removed to Sheerlegs Wharf. Early in July the Nucula will proceed to Suva to replenish the Dunedin's oil fuel bunkers, and afterwards the tanker will proceed to San Pedro to load oil fuel for the New Zealand Navy Department.
