ROTORUA ACTIVITIES [by TELEGRAPH —OWN" correspondent] ROTORUA. Friday The annual meeting of the Rotonta Rod and (inn Club was held lost evening. The president, Mr. R. H. Joties, presided. Mr. .Tones said tho present system of control in tho Kotorua district was not in the best interests of fish and game operations. No fault was found A'ith tlio control of the, conservator, Mr. A. Keau. as ho had given every assistance possible to the club. The Minister, however, had stated that- a change in the system of control could not be considered.' Mr. Jones said that fishing had improved somewhat during the pust season and tho limit size of fish had been increased from 10 fo 12-ineh. Tho meeting decided to request tho department to increase tho fee from ,1s to 2a Gd for the destruction of shags and also that the department be asked to liberate birds after the closing of tho shooting season for breeding purposes.
