NEW PLUNKET ROOMS

ASSET TO FRANKTON [from our own correspondentl HAMILTON, Friday A new centre for' Plunket nursing was opened in Kent Street, Frankton, to-day by tho Minister,of Health, tho Hon. J. A. Young, who is the member for the district. In order to erect the now rooms tho sum of £2OO was raised by donations and the proceeds of social functions. Tho land, which is in a central position, was bequeathed under tho will of the late Mrs. I. B. Jolly, a former president of the Frankton sub-committco of tho Plunke.t Society. In declaring tho rooms opened, Mr Young said that it was an important day for Frankton. Tho new rooms were in keeping with tho most up-to-date Plunket rooms in any part of the Dominion. They would be a, monument to the life work of the late Mrs. Jolly Last year thero had been a total of 4293 visits to the nurse in tho district. Tho Mayor of Hamilton, Mr. J. R. Fow, said that tho residents of Frankton should be happy in realising another ambition. Reference to the advantages of well-equipped Plunket rooms was made by Miss A. Pattrick, the director of Plunket nursing. An historical sketch of the movement in Hamilton and tho surrounding districts since its inception 16 years ago was given by tho president of the Hamilton committee, Sirs. A. M. Bisley. Speaking on behalf of his late wife and his family Mr. F. B. Jolly said he was appreciative of the gratitude that had been expressed. Tho speakers were introduced by Mrs. G. Buckland. president of the Frankton sub-commit-tee. Nurse C. Hooker will be in charge of the new rooms.
