LINER'S WORLD CRUISE
CARINTHIA TO RETURN BRIEF VISIT TO AUCKLAND NEXT YEAR'S ITINERARY Owing to the success of the world cruise made by the Cunnrd liner Garinthia earlier this year, during the course of which calls were made at Auckland and Wellington, a similar cruise will bo undertaken by tho vessel in 1934. New Zealand will again be included in the itinerary. According to tho schedule already drawn up, which is expected to bo final, tho Carinthia will leave New York on January 11 and visit Kingston, (Jamaica), San Pedro, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Rarotonga, Apia and Suva. Passengers on tho Inst cruise considered Rarotonga tho most interesting port of call of the entire cruise. From Suva the Carinthia will proceed to Auckland, arriving on the morning of February 23 and sailing on tho afternoon of February 20 for Wellington. The vessel will arrive at Wellington on the morning of February 2S and sail again tho same evoning for Sydney. During the Carinthia's stay in New Zealand excursions to the Bay of Islands for deep-sea fishing, to tho Waitomo Caves and to Rotorua will be arranged. Passengers will be afforded the opportunity of travelling through the North Island and rejoining the ship at Wellington, as on the previous cruise. From Sydney the liner will go to the Fast Indies, Colombo, South Africa and South America, and will return to New York on May 31. An unusual feature of the cruise will be the presence on board the vessel of the well-known author and publicist, Mr. Hendrik Willem van Loon, as lecturer. Mr. van Loon is to address passengers on various aspects of each country to bo visitod, while ho is to prepare a special book, which he will illustrate himself, in connection with tho cruise.
