SHEEP PRICES RISE
GISBORNE IMPROVEMENT HIGHER BY Is TO 2s A HEAD [by TELEGRAPH —OWN' correspondent] GISBORNE, Friday A further sharp upward move was noted in the fat sheep market at the Matawhero stock sale to-day and this took place in spite of the fact that, generally speaking, the quality of the offering was not equal to that penned last week, when some of the better class ewes showed an improvement in both quality and price on that of the week before. Lambs to-day went up Is to 2s a head without allowing for quality, while ewes, both first and second grades, also were dearer. There was also a further rise in store sheep prices.
