UNUSUAL VISITOR
SEAL ON ROADWAY BUS- PARTY'S SURPRISE SENT TO WELLINGTON ZOO [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Thursday Passengers in a bus to-day were surprised to see in the middle of the road at Petono near the pipe bridge a fully grown seal. The polar visitor was seven feet long and white in colour. While the bus passengers watched the unusual spectacle the seal with a few guttural barks crawled under a wire fence and clumsily made its way across a paddock finally plunging into the muddy Hutt River. Later in the day the seal was discovered near the Shandon golf links. It was secured and transported to the Wellington Zoo by an official. It was in good condition.
