SHOPPING AT OPOTIKI
CAMPAIGN NEXT MONTH [nV TELEGRAM! —OWN CORRESPONDENT] OPOTIKI, Wednesday A large gathering of business men at a special meeting called by the Opotiki Chamber of Commerce decided to hold a shopping campaign lasting two weeks in July. Various speakers emphasised the need to stimulate trade and educate people to tho '"fact that there" was no need to buy outside their own town. It was suggested that tho second week should be "Joy Week," culminating in a big carnival and possibly sports. A committee of nine, with Mr. J. R. Sinclair, president of the chamber, as chairman, was set up to formulate plans and appoint sub-committees.
