WOMEN'S DIVISION
FARMERS' UNION The president, Mrs.' Jenner, presided at the June meeting of the Morrinsville branch of the W.D.F.U., 60 members- being present. After some discussion it was decided not to send a delegate to the forthcoming conference. Donations were made to the Sunshine League, Waikato Hospital, the Hospital Auxiliary (Auckland) and Sister Esther. The Rev. Gardner Brown gave an interesting address on "The Motion Picture," and' tea vWas '-Served by the hostesses. for the day, the Mangateparu committee. \ Ngongdtaha.—Mi's. V. C. Florey presided over a large attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the branch of the division. Mrs. Dahlin and Mrs. Hodges joined as new members. It was decided to donate £5 to the community chest. About 80 members and friends were later entertained at the 'first birthday.; party, when a most enjoyable afternoon was spent. Several songs by Mrs. Bonnington were greatly enjoyed. 1 A short play, "Aunt Lizzie's Friend," was given by members of tW division, parts being taken by Mesdames Stembridge, Moule, Denver, Sinclair and Robinson and Misses Mehrtens, Stembridge and Moule. The president welcomed visitors from Wanganui,. Cambridge, Taneatua, Tirau and Putaruru. Pio Pio. —A large attendance of members of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union witnessed a demonstration of wool-quilt making in the Town Hall recently. Mrs. C. K. Wilson introduced Mrs. Olsen, of Waitomo, who explained the washing, drying and carding processes and showed how to proceed with the making of the wool quilt.. Afternoon tea was served in the rest room by the Kahuwera Road ladies.
