ESCAPE FROM GAOL
PRISONERS IN KANSAS THREE WOMEN AS HOSTAGES (.Received May 31, 8.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 30 Ton men who wore serving long sentences in tho Stato gaol at Lansing, Kansas, escaped in sensational circumstances to-day. The prisoners kidnapped tho warden and two guards and wounded another. Then they separated into two groups, each of which seized a motor-car and drove away, taking three women occupants of the cars with them. Apparently tlicy hope to use the women as hostages. The police withheld their fire, fearing they might wound the women. The escaped prisoners arc notorious bank robbers or murderers.
