MEETING AT ADDINGTON ACCEPTANCES FOR SATURDAY KING GEORGE HANDICAP FIELD [nv TKIjKCiKAI'H I'KKSS ASSOCIATION'! CHRIST CHURCH, Tucsdny Acceptances for Ihe first. <1 ay of the Canterbury Park Troll ins Club's Winter Meetins to he held at Addington next Saturday and Monday are ua follows:

TO-DAY'S DERBY GREAT ENGLISH CLASSIC HYPERION STILL FAVOURITE Great interest will be taken in racing circles throughout the world in the Derby to he run at Epsom. England, to day. According to a cablegram from London to an- Australian paper a week ago Hyperion, a cheßtnut colt by Gainsborough from Selene, retained his position as favourite. Lord Woolavington's Manitoba had been well supported following his win. by a short head from the Oaks filly Solfatara over 1 i miles at Birmingham. His trainer, P. Darling, regarded his form as satisfactory. Critics considered that the fact that Manitoba swerved in the Inst furlong suggested that he ran ungenerously. They expressed the opinion that bis win was less impressive than Hyperion's defeat of Myoaofis. to whom ho gave 121b.. especially as Myosotis won the Derby Trial Stakes on May '2O. Some keen judges are enthusiastic about Harinero, an Irish-bred colt, who is a fullbrother to Trigo, the Derby and St. Leger winner of 1929. FRENCH COLT AMISS WITHDRAWN FROM RACE

TROTTING PREPARATION HAWKE'S BAY MEETING [liY TKLEGIIAPH —OWN CORiiESI'ONDENT] HASTINGS, Tuesday The inside grass track was open at Hastings this morning for fast work, many candidates engaged at the local trotting meeting beiug > given useful tasks. Sunraves and Rector worked a solid mile and u-half, the last mile taking 2.23 and the final half 1.115. Both went well. Sunraves was particularly pleasing. Storm Queen and Teri Kingi covered the last mile of a mile and u-quarter in 2.27J and the final half in 1.12. Teri .Kingi was under a pull. Storm Queen showed good form. Manco and Pelting did a useful effort, the last six furlongs of a mile and a-half being ut a 2.28 gait. Pelting, a maiden pacer, shaped well. Cnpilano easily held Le Chenault over a mile and a-half at a 2.30 gait. The local cup candidate is very fit. Mute trotted three laps very solidly. Before reaching the track he .broke away from his attendant and galloped to the town, but was none the worse for his escapade. Last year his stablemate Capilano had a similar experience, but, won the cup. Audrey's Boy, half-brother to Native Prince, and Ngata. half-sister to The Shrew, unraced novices, gave good displays. Town Guard, 111 Bpite of two lapses, beat Blue Blood over a mile and a-half. The majority of the visitors arrived today, creating a keener interest in tho fixture.
