ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS REAPPEARANCE OF VETERAN The New Zealand Gun Club championships were continued yesterday at the Auckland Gun Club's grounds at Pakuranga. The shooting was commenced with a £so' match of 15 rotinds. Thero were -27 entries, a keen competitor, who was making a reappearance after an abßenco of many yearn, being Mr. J. Allen, of Taumaranui, aged 83. A keen wind prevailed and the targets were very fast and only two secured the possible, while four shot one below the possible. Following are the scoresS. G. Glennie (Gisborne), 2Gyds, 15; H. Clinch (National Park), 27yds, 15; J. Donnelly (Auckland). 23yds, 11; C. H. Drysdale (Auckland), 21yds, 14; D. Ewing (Auckland), 22yds, 14; W. Woolven (Hamilton), 26yds, 14. A match of five rounds followed, jn which 21 competed. The results were as follow?, seven shooting the possible;—D. Campbell (Hastings), 28yds, 5; F. (Ramsey (Auckland), 24yds, 5; J. C. Whitney (Auckland), 21yds, 5; T. F. Harrison (Methven), 23yds. 5- T. Parker'(Napier). 21yds, 5; JR. Comer {fiuawai), 21yds, 5; H. Gage (Auckland), 21yds. 5. A third sweep was held on the first-unss-out. principle, entrance foe being £l. There wero 15 entries and five divided the pool on the seventh round. Following were the results;—H. Ciage (Auckland). 22yds, 7; -T. Malcolm (Huntly), 23yds, 7; L. Ramsey (Auckland), 25yds. 7; H. Howlett (Hastings), 22yds, 7; E. Schofield (Auckland), 21yds, 7. The second championship will start this morning at 9 a.m. sharp.
