Essex. —Gloucester: First innings, 139 (Nichols seven for 52); second, 160 (Daer six for 38). Essex: First innings, 187 (Sinfield six for 30); second, six i'or 116. Essex won by four wickets. Worcester v. Warwick. —Worcester: First innings; 234 (Brown five for 75); second, six for 295, declared (Gibbons 122). Warwick: First innings, 250; second, six for 280 (Croora 115, Eilner 102). Warwick won by four wickets. Yorkshire v. Glamorgan. —Yorkshire: First innings, 299 (Barber 120 not out; Clay six for 72); second, three for 236, declared (Mitchell 108 not out). Glamorgan: First innings, 208; second, 161 (Bowes six for 82)..,forkshire won by 166 runs.

Jehangir Khan was a member of the Indian team which toured England last summer, after which ho remained to study at Cambridge. Ho helped the University to beat Yorkshire recently with a great bowling performance. WEST INDIES ELEVEN DEFEAT OF HAMPSHIRE LONDON. May 26 The West Indies cricket team defeated Hampshire by six wickets. The county scored 306 and 149. Martuidale took six wickets for 61. The visitors replied with 227 and 232 for four wickets (Poach 67, Da Costa 53 not out).
