AMERICAN ZOiNE FINAL WIN FOR UNITED STATES (Received Mav 28, 6.35 p.m.) NEW YORK, May H The United States players have eliminated Argentina from the Davis Cup contest and won the American zone. They will go to Europe to contest the semi-final to decide which country is to meet the holders (France). In the doubles yesterday Lott and Van Ryn defeated Zappa and Ecneverria (Argentina), 6 —l, 6 —i, 61. In the singles to-day Vines defeated Cattaruzza, 7 —5, 6 —l, »> 6 match between Allison and Zappa was cancelled owing to rain.
