TAUPIRI DANCE
To mark the first anniversary of the Kainui Hall (Taupiri) a fancy dress social was held on Friday evening, there being a large attendance. Among those in fancy dress were Mrs. McDonald (as "Dad —On our Selection"), Mrs. Hunter (night), Mrs. Thorns (old Dutch girl), Mrs. I. Walter (butterfly), Miss B. Hinton (Red Cross nurse), Miss E. Hiuton (witch). Miss J. Vincent (odds and ends). Miss G. Griffin (parcel post), Miss P. Griffin (eastern princess), Miss M. Walter (fisherman's wife), Miss V. Grant (gipsy), Miss AI. Gerrand (Spanish lady), Miss J. Walter (Dutch girl), Miss K. Hunter (custard powder), Miss J. Drinkwater (patches), Miss I. Vincent (autumn leaves), Mr. G. Walter (ghost), llr. McDonald (nig-p-er), Mr. Hunter (baby), 3VIr. lv. Hinton (soldier), Mr. N. Jebson (conductor). Mr. G. Moys (professor), Mr. F. .Hubbard (wireless), Thorne Brothers (twin cowboys), Mr. J'. Lock (Larwood), Mr. R. Lock (pierrot), Air. E. Parkes (Chinaman).
