THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE [from our own correspondent] OPOTIKI, Saturday There was a record attendance at the annual meeting c>f the Opotiki Chamber of Commerce), the retiring: president, Mr. F. W. Bridger, presiding. The chairman stated that owing to the depression, thp avenues for discussion by the chamber had been narrowed," but it was felt that an effort should bo made to revive the meetings. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. J. R. Sinclair; vicepresident, Mr> C. Pips; auditor, Mr. H. Jessoo; secretary and treasurer, Mr. C. TI. Fleming; council. Messrs. F. Bridger, S. Shalfoon. G. S. Moody, G. Peagram, 1). Auld, W. Burrett, M. O. Kidd. S. Chatfield, G. A. Hathawav, G. Neilsen. A. L. Arrowsmith, A. E. Pnvne, S. Patterson, H. G. Peeves, W. Cresswell, G. L. Day, E. N. Boyce, 11. Larmer. General meetings of the chamber will be held monthly.
