THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE LATE LEVELS MAINTAINED Levels were maintained on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, when there was a fairly heavy turnover of business. Supplies of State loans were limited, holders of one issue only being quoted. The 4 per cent stocks were again sought at £99 los and a parcel of the 1946 4 per cents changed hands 5s higher at par. A rise of 5s brought offers for the 4 per cent bonds into line with those for the stock issues. The 34 per cent stocks were sought unchanged at £9B 10s. Inquiry for banks was steady and sellers operated to a greater extent. New Zealands, on whicii a lower dividend for the year has been announced, were sought (id lower at 44s 9d, and quotations eased by .'3d to 45s 3d. Business was done 3d at 455. New South Wales had salo at £29, an advance of 2s Gd. Insurance issues were a shade firmer. New Zealands advanced 3d all round to 49s Gd and 50s. South British were sought 3d higher at 64s 3d and a parcel was taken at 64s 6d, a rise of 6d. Nationals were placed unchanged at 16s 6d. The demand in tho general sections varied to a slight degree only. Offers for Pukemiro Collieries were a shade higher, but a parcel was released 3s 6d lower at 19s. New Zealand Breweries were placed unchanged at 29s 6d. Holders of Colonial Sugars made a slight concession and a salo was made 2s 6d higher at £55 15s. In mining, Golcondas were active, selling higher at BJd and subsequently at 9d and fljd. Waihi Junctions changed hands Id higher at 3b lOd. In the unlisted stocky, Bell Hooper were secured Id higher at lid, and Auckland Farmers' Freezing, £1 paid, advanced on sale by 9d to lis.
