BREACH OF PROBATION
MAN FAILS TO' REPORT
ONE MONTH IN PRISON
"Persons released on probation should realise they have been dealt with most leniently, and must «.obey the conditions of their release," said Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, when Joseph Allen Parkinson, aged 34, mechanic (Mr. Aekins), admitted a charge of failing to comply with the terms of his release on probation. The probation officer, Mr. W. J. Campbell, said that accused was admitted to probation by the Supreme Court in December, 1930, for two years. He was ordered to make restitution of £l3, but ho had failed to report and had paid only £6, although he had had the money to pay in full. Mr. Aekins said that accused had had a hard time. He was at present on relief work.
Accused was sentenced to ono month's imprisonment.
