THE HARBOUR BOARD
FOUR SEATS FILLED
MR. WYNYARD NOT STANDING MEMBER FOR 18 YEARS Four scats on the Auckland Harbour Board were filled without election when nominations closed yesterday. Messrs. C. G. Macindoe and W. F. McCallum were the only nominees representing payers of dues on ships, while Mr. F. A. Hellaby was elected unopposed as the representative of payers of dues other than those on ships.
There will also bo no election for the rcpi'esentative of the Onehunga and
combined districts on the board, as Mr. M 11. W.vnyard, one of the nominees, lias withdrawn after 18 years' service. Mr. S. Vella is therefore elected un-
opposed. Mr. Wynyard said yesterday that he had not intended standing, but had consented to nomination at the request of other members. He had decided to withdraw, however, as an election in the Onehunga and combined district, which included Newmarket and Ono Tree Hill, where there would be no municipal elections, would prove expensive to the board. His seat on the
Main Highways Board and his private business kept him busy.
