DAYLIGHT EXPRESS
CLAIMS OF PUKEKOH E CONDITIONAL STOP SOUGHT [from our own correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Fridny The possibilities of having Pukekohe made a conditional stop for the daylight limited from Wellington were discussed by tho Pukekoho Chamber of Commerce last evening. Tho train passes through Pukekohe at 10 p.m. It was mentioned that there was no way of coming from Franktou or farther south to Pukekohe by rail at night, and instances were quoted where persons had been forced to travel to Bombay by service car and thence to Pukekohe by taxi, or had gone on to Auckland and returned by buses. The secretary was instructed to write to the Railway Department, suggesting that the train should stop if there were passengers to alight from or board the train. . . It was also decided to inquire if steam or electric cars could be run between Pukekohe and Auckland at night.
