NO FRUIT STANDS
WELLINGTON'S DECISION Fruit stands havo vanished from tho streets of Wellington. Some months ago tho City Council decided that thcro should bo no further sale by auction or otherwise) of fruit-vending stands after March yi, 193,'}. Tho last quarter camo to an end on Saturday, and in future these stands, which havo been a familiar sight on tho streets for tho past 38 years, will not bo seen. It is understood that some of the stand proprietors havo made arrangements to take shops and others will probably become itinerant sellers of fruit.
