DEPARTING MANAGER

STAFF PRESENTATION To bid farewell to Mr. G. C. Codlin, manager of tho New Zealand Herald, and to Mrs. Codlin, the ladies of the staff entertained them at afternoon tea yesterday. Sirs. Codlin was presented upon arrival with a bouquet of vivid dahlias in rich autumn shades by Miss Eileen Miller, and at the conclusion of tea Mr. Codlin was presented by Miss Irene Tanner, on behalf of the members, with a white gold evening watch chain to match the watch that had been given him on a previous occasion by the male members of tho staff. To Mrs. Codlin was also presented a charming framed photograph in sepia of ltaugitoto and a part of tho harbour. In reply, Mr. Codlin spoke of his association with the staff, and paid a warm tribute to its loyalty and co-oper-ation. Mr. and Mrs. Codlin leave for Sydney on Monday next.
