NOTES ON THE RACINQ

SOME GREAT PERFORMANCES [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] CHRISVCHURCH, Wednesday When Nicoya won the Harvest Handicap at Addington to-day he proved himself one of the best trotters of recent years. At the start ho lost up to 60 yards, but ho had no difficulty in beating his field. Ho won very easily and he should reach tho highest class. He was tho outstanding trotter of the meeting. Kolmar was an outsider, but was the only other one to threaten danger. Gold Tinge ehowed ho could sprint as well as stay when he won the Oxford Handicap. He was in a good position early and won with something in hand. Gold Tinge has struck form and tho fin© finishing effort by Silver De Oro was of no avail. Major Lind went his usual solid race. A popular win whs recorded by Glenrossic in the President's Handicap. Well placed all the way he fairly buried tho rest for speed and won very well. Mountain Dell and Lindbergh were the only serious challengers ill a race that lacked interest. Ngingongingo paid a royal prico when he won the Tlalswell Handicap. 110 showed much improved form and was liover seriously troubled. He should repay for the patieneo displayed witli him. Lilian Bond had a setback onrly in tho Welcome Handicap and was never dangerous, while Reporter with a good beginning showed too much speed for the otliera. Tho Author Dillon gelding showed himself a good ono. and Billy Wrack was the only contender at the finish. It was a reverse for investors.
