r MAYORALTY OF HAMILTON THREE ASPIRANTS NOMINATED TE AWAMUTU DIFFICULTY A three-cornered contest for tho mayoralty of Hamilton will take place at tho municipal elections, and there will also bo a contest for members of tho Borough Council. An extraordinary position has arisen at To Awamutu. Only three nominations have been received for the eight vacancies on tho Borough Council. Pukekohe borough nominations close to-day. * Tho Mayor, Mr. J. Routly, acceded to tho request of a deputation yesterday to contest the mayoralty. Mr. C. K. Lawrio will also bo a candidate.

POWER BOARD CONTEST THIRTEEN CANDIDATES Thirteen candidates have been nominated for eight vacancies on the Waitemata Electric-Power Board as representatives of the North Shore boroughs and the borough of New Lynn. In Takapuna there are six aspirants for two seats and in New Lynn there are two candidates for one seat. No contests will take place in Devonport and Birkenhead, where the required number of candidates has been nominated. Nominations for the Northcote seat will not close until noon to-day.
