ECONOMY PROGRAMME CUT IN ARMY STRENGTH WASHINGTON, April 17 A reduction of between 12,000 and 15,000 in the enlisted personnel of the Army, and 2000 to 3000 officers, is involved in the War Department's impending economy programme. The Army now has a strength of 117,000 enlisted men and 12,000 officers. President Roosevelt has ordered a cut of 144,000,000 dollars in next year's expenditure by the War Department.
