RECORDS OF THE PROVINCES Since the inauguration of Plunkct Shield nfatches in J'.)OG-7 Auckland has held the trophy on eight occasions, Canterbury seven, Wellington six, and Otago two. In the 1918-19 season Wellington won the shiehl from Canterbury, but lost it to the Southern province again in the same year. The provinces .tvere bracketed as joint holders.
