HARD COURT CHAMPIONSHIPS COMBINED DOUBLES GAMES The Auckland Lawn Tennis Association's haul court championships were continued at tho A\ indmill Road courts yesterday, two finals being decided. Eight matches still ioma in to finish tho tourney, and they will be played next Siiturdny. The final of the first section of the combined event between the title-holders, E. Tonks and Ali'sb ilarjorio MacFarlane, and C. Partridge and Aliso Marion Macfarhuie, provided a close eontesl, tho first-named pair winning in liie third set. Partridge and his partner had an opportunity to break through their opponents' service for a. 3—l lead in the deciding set, hut failed to take the chance, and tho holders, by steady tennis, went to "i—3 and to.ik the set on Tonks' service in the tenth game, nfter the losers had saved two match points.
