Mr. 11. Laidlaw returned from the South by the limited express yesterday. Mr. H. G. Dickie, M.P. for Patea, arrived from Hawera yesterday and is at the Central Hotel. Mr. J. C. F. Paine,- of Otahuhu, left by* the Niagara for Sydney yesterday, en route to England. Mr. M. H. Wvnyard, a member of. the Main Highways board, left for Wellington last evening. The Rev. A. J. Seamcr, of theMethodist Maori Mission, was a passenger for Wellington by the limited' express last evening. The Rev. Father Innocent Doyle, of Adelaide, left by the Niagara for Sydney yesterday on return home. He has been in New Zealand for a year Oil work connected with the Dominican order. Bishop Liston will leave for tho South by this afternoon's express. He will attend the opening of the Marisfc brothers' novitiate at Clnreinont, Timaru, on Sunday. The bishop will be accompanied by Moilsignor \V. J. Ormond and Monsignor J. Calnll. The Rev. Father M. -T. O'Neill, priest in charge of the social work of the Roman Catholic diocese of Auckland, and tho Rev. Father J. J. Kelly, parish priest at Helensville, left by-tho Niagara for Sydney yesterday, en roulo to Ireland. They will be absent about six months. Mr. A. E. Loach, who has been secretarv of the Christchurcli Savage Club for tlie past nine years, will retire from that office at the end of the month, on account of failing health. He will, however, retain the office of secretary of the Kindred Clubs Association of New Zealand, which is the governing body of the Savage and Orphan Clubs of the Dominion. MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Finance, who has been spending the Easter holidays at his home at Matakohe and has taken advantage of the opportunity to address meetings of his constituents, will arrive in Auckland on Friday morning. He will addres* the Creditmen's Club at a luncheon in the Milne and Choyce Reception Hall that day. The Hon. J. A 1 Young, Minister of Health, who spent Easter at his farm near Kaiwaka, North Auckland, left for the South by the limited express last evening.
