She intends to go on later to visit relatives in the Waikato. The Waimauku branch of the League of Mothers held a meeting in the local hnll, Mrs. T. Charter presiding over a very good attendance. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. Boot (Helensville), who gave a very interesting address entitled " A Woman's Throne." Afternoon tea, served by tho hostess, jfrs. L. Wightman, concluded a very pleasant afternoon. Miss Lillie Davis, of Carlisle, who was mado a member of the Order of the British Empire in the New Year honour?, was recently presented with a wallet of treasury notes and a gold wrist watch by the citizens of Carlisle in appreciation of her temperance and child welfare work in tho city during the past 1(3 years. Miss Davis founded the " Sister Lillio " shelter for poor children of at Silloth. The Oddfellows lodges of Kumeu combined on Saturday evening to hold an Easter dance in tho Public Hall. There was a good attendance of members and their friends who enjoyed the latest dance music. Supper arrangements were in tho hands of Mesdames Garry and Dane and Misses Harrison. Dane and Barnes.
