ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION
AIR PILOT LEAVES AMERICA LEADERS DELAYED NEW YORK, April 14 Mr. Bernt Balehen, air pilot of the Ellsworth expedition, accompanied by members of his family and an aeroplane mechanic, sailed for Norway yesterday by the Stavangerfjord, on which was the aeroplane to be used in the Antarctic flight. It is understood that Sir Hubert Wilkins was delayed with Mr. Lincoln Ellsworth and will join tho expedition later. The expedition's ship is scheduled to proceed to New Zealand from Norway about August 1. She. will leave the Dominion for the base in the Bay of Whales about November 1 and should arrive there about December 15. The personnel, including Sir Hubert Wilkins, Mr. Ellsworth and Mr. Balehen, air pilot, will consist of only 15 men. It will bo the smallest party ever to make such a journey.
