STIMULATING DEMAND DAIRY BOARD DISCUSSIONS [by telegraph—press association] WELLINGTON". Sunday The Dairy Board at a meeting last week, after supporting the stand made against any restriction on the free entry of dairy products into England, discussed suggestions for the promotion '• of the use of milk. One of the most practical suggestions was advanced by Mr. Aitken, a baker, of Dunedin, who suggested legislation making compulsory the use of full cream milk for mixing with flour on the basis of one part of milk and one part of water, thus setting yp an increased demand for milk. Mr. Aitken said he believed that millers could be induced to stand an extra 10s a ton on the price of flour, j Mr. Dynes Fulton said that much could be done in regard to the promotion of a greater use of milk in the towns. Another suggestion was the feeding of calves up to six weeks of age. on whole milk. It was stated that there would be a good market for six-weeks-old veal. The popularising of cheese was another proposal, a suggestion being . made that the aid of the women's division of the Farmers' Union and the Women's Institute should .be invoked. It was decided to seek more information from a correspondent who suggested an "eat more cheese" campaign.
