MATCH AT PUKEKOHE VISIT BY AUCKLAND COLTS [from OUR OWN' correspondent] PUKEKOHE., Saturday The close of the cricket season in the Franklin district was marked by a visit by the Auckland colts, wbo played a twodays match with a team representing tho Pukekoho Cricket Association. The Pukekohe team won by six wickets, but the eta ndard of fielding of the visitors was much superior to that of tho local team. PAR NELL TOURING TEAM [jit telegraph—press association] GISBORNE, Sunday The Parnell cricket team from Auckland played Poverty Bay yesterday. The home team secured a first innings lead in a lowscoring match. Tho wicket was in good order nnd nothing could account for the batting failures. Poverty Bay started well, but tho last eight wickets added only 40 runs, the innings realising 133 (G. Kobert.SOII 3", "SV. Carson 23. M. K. Boon 2J). MoCoy secured eight wickets for 42 runs in 27 overs. Parnell lost Whitelaw, McCoy and Vivian for only 11 runs, but M. Wallace played soundly for 24 and G. Wallace made 11 these being tho only double-figure scorers in an innings of 80 which occupied two hours. Tho match will be concluded to-morrow.
