SURF LIFE-SAVING
INTERPROVINCIAL contest TAKAPUNA TEAM SUCCESSFUL The inter-provincial surf life-saving contest held on Takapuna Beach at the week-end was won by the Takapuna Club. Tho competition, although held late in the season, was witnessed by a large number of residents of the district, as well as visitors who were spending the holidays at the North Shore. Teams were tested and examined on the march past, seven-man water work, fourman alarm event, rescue and release drill, as well as resuscitation drill. The Mcintosh Cup was presented by the Mayor of Takapuna,' Mr. J Guiniven, to the captain of the winning team, Mr. .8. V. Higgins, at the conclusion of events. > During the afternoon the Brown s Bay Surf CUib gave a demonstration, which was of a particularly high standard for a new club. , . Following were the results: —Takapuna, 370 points, 1; Lyall Bay, 3GG points, 2; Milford, 363 points, 3. Tho winning team was O. Mclnman, JN. Galbrnith, C. J. Sidford, B. Hart, J. McCaffery, N. Brown and H*. Bioletti.
