SOCCER TRIAL MATCH
NORTH ISLAND'S EASY WIN [bv telegbaph —OWN correspondent] WELLINGTON, Saturday The North Island Association football team scored a decisive victory over the South Island representatives in the trial match at the Basin Reserve this afternoon, the northern side winning by 4 goals to 0. The weather was fine and there was a large attendance. The game was hard throughout, but was not a brilliant exhibition of the code. However, the Auckland players acquitted themselves with credit. All the scoring was done in the first half of tho game. Several changes were made in the teams in the second spell.
