TAU.RANGA ACTIVITIES MEMBERSHIP MAINTAINED [from our owx correspondent] TAU-RANGA, Saturday The anniial meeting of tho Western Bay of Plenty Returned Soldiers' Association was held this week, Mr. L. 11. ,"Wilkinson presiding over a good attendance of members. Tho resignation of Mr. 11. Bamberry as secretary was accepted witn regret. The president's report showed that the membership had been well maintained. Applications for assistance were increasing and valuable help had been given by thfi local Patriotic Society. 0/Ecers were elected as follows: — President, Mr. L. P. Wilkinson; vicepresidents, /Messrs. C. T. Clinkanl and H. ]). Stevens; secretary, Mr. P. G.' Mcintosh; executive, Messrs. G. Lasenby, W. Parlane, W. Norris, A. Johnston, A. Frires. P. Lumley, W. Spratley, It. F. Paine, W. G. Isles, T. Ross, T. It. Stewart. It -was agreed that poppies bo sold nri Saturday, April 22, and that tho annual reunion bo held on Anzac Day. The meeting adopted a motion placing on record its appreciation of tho excellent services rendered by Sir George Richardson on behalf of returned soldiers, and inviting him to attend tho/Aazac Day service in Taurnnga. NEW LYNN ORGANISATION GROWTH OF THE BRANCH A successful annual meeting of the New Lynn unit of the Western Suburbs Returned Soldiers' Association, Inc., was held on Wednesday evening. This Unit has grown considerably nnd now has a roll of 50. During the past year valuable assistance has been rendered to ex-servicemen in tho district, The following officers were elected:— Oiaii •man, Mr. J. E. Slattery; deputyohairman, Mr. D. A. Craigio; secretary, Mr. \V. D. Taylor; treasurer, Mr. FBarnes; executive, Messrs. W. E. iong, F. C. Barker, P. Tierney, N. Matneson, W. Wishnrt, T. Smith, W. J- Fletcher, E. McDonald. The two representatives nominated for the headquarters' executive in Glen Eden ®re Messrs. E. C. Owen and D. A. Craigio.
