BOTTLE'S LONG DRIFT
MESSAGE FROM NIAGARA BRISBANE, April 13 A bottle picked up on Noosa beach, Tewantin, contained a paper bearing the words: " Thrown overboard on Juno 4, 1930, by tho master, Captain T. V. Hill, of the Niagara, in longitude 175 east, latitude 30 south. Finder please return to the United States Hydrographic Department, Washington." The document has been sent to the American Consul at Brisbane. The position given is 200 miles north of North Cape, New Zealand. Captain Hill stated that although the bottle was picked up only 1000 miles west of where it was dropped it might havp been drifting all over tho Tasman.
