TAURANGA FIRE BOARD
APPROVAL OF ESTIMATES [from our own correspondent} TANKANGA, Thursday At the annual meeting of the Tailranga Fire Board the estimates of expenditure for next year, amounting to £SS4, were approved. The principal item is £290 for tho purchase and fitting of a fire pump, which is being imported from England. There is a credit balance of £362 at the bank. The total levy on the Borqpgh Council and the insurance companies will be £452, plus tjie Government Subsidy of £4O. The levy on the Borough Council and companies will be £226 each, against £496 each last yearl The Hon. C. E. Macmillan, Minister of Agriculture, .wrote regarding question of free railway passes for fira brigadesmen attending the annual "conference, and said the matter was likely to come before the Cabinet shortly.
