AN ITALIAN SATIRIST
9 Could anything be more absurd than the presiding jndgo of a Paris court castigating his fellow judges on the bench as the " idiot on my left and another idiot on my right;" throwing up tho law to become circus clown; and later retiring to tho heart of Africa to meditate on tho utter foolishness of the world? We owe it to Pitigrilli, an Italian satirist, that wo have Mr. Pott tho judge, and, given as it is to a great deal of first-person philosophising, tho book is something out of tho usual run. "Mr. Pott," by Pitigrilli. (The Bodloy Head.)
