LOCKED IN A SAFE

MESSAGE FROM NEXT WORLD SIR OLIVER LODGE'S TEST It was recently stated by the Daily Express that it was understood that Sir Oliver Lodge, the famous scientist, has set his mind in the autumn of his life on an experiment more remarkable than any he has attempted during his long career. He has made definite arrangements for an endeavour to take his memory from this world into the next. Sir Oliver, who has spent a great part of his life delving into the mysteries of the other world, says he has decided to use his death to prove to the sceptics of this one that they can communicate with the dead. He has already composed a message that no one but himself has ever seen. No one-has any clue to the nature of it. No one will unless his experiment succeeds. The message is sealed in an envelope and locked in a safe at the offices of the Psychical Research Society in London. It will remain in that safe until after Sir Oliver's death, and will lnot be taken out until his spirit announces to a medium that the moment has come. Sir Oliver in the meantime has committed to memory the message to the friends he will leave behind on earth. He says he hopes that his memory will survive death, and that he will be able to reveal the contents of the envelope after he has " passed over." He claims to have made his arrangements with scientific precision. If he succeeds in communicating the message through his medium, he is confident, he says, that no possible doubt will be left on the whole question of spiritual survival.
