RELIEF FOR CLASS C MEN
Sj r> —At last a portion of the art union moneys is to be allocated to the unemployed. Might I suggest the most worthy cause this money could be used for is" relief of class C men, who gre at present a drain 011 the resources of the hospital jyad charitable aid boards. These men, a great many of whom will never be fit enough to resume their former occupations, have very little, if anything, to look forward to in life. This money could be used to place .men on two or three acres, with house, etc., similar to the ten-acre scheme, and give those who are unfortunate a chance to make a new in life for themselves and their dependants. A portion could be used to teach class C men a trade suitable and sufficiently remunerative to keen them for the remainder of their lives. It is to be sincerely hoped others will see the justice of this and help a class of men who, through no fault of their own, are now dependent on the charity of their fellow-men. C. 11. Bhame.
