WHANGAREI ASSOCIATION [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Thursday The annual meeting of the Whnngarei Hockey Associatio). was held last evening, the president, Mr. H. Monkhouse. presiding over a largo attendance. The balance sheet disclosed a small loss on last year's working. This was explained by the fact, that the association paid the expenses of the three teams which took pnrt in tho Country Week tournament. The assets of the association wero 6hown as .1-172 and liabilities .£'s3. It, was decided to include thp Wnipu men's team in the competition this year The association decided to apply to tho Borough Council foi an extra playing ground at Kensington Park. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr. L. Kent, president. Mr. J'. Connell; vice-presidents. Messrs. E. Taylor and F. Primmer; committee, one delegate from each club; lion secretary. Mr. 11. Monkhouse; hon. treasurer, Mr. F. Munro; lion, auditor. Mr. A. 1). Jnek; delegnte to Auckland Hockey Association, Mr. 1,. Kent; delegate to Auckland Ladies' Hockey Association, Miss G. Lowe; ladies' selectors, Mrs. McLeod, Mrs, McLean and Mr. G. Larkin; men's selector, Mr. J. Batchelor. THAMES-HATJR AKI AFFAIRS [by telegraph—own correspondent] THAMES, Thursday The Thnmes-Hanraki Hockey Association held its annual meeting last evening, there being a good attendance of delegates. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £3. The season will open on April 29 and matches commence on May 6. The following officers were elected ron, Mr. ,T. C. Miller; president, Mr. R. Menzies; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. Hall; executive, secretaries of all affiliated clubs and Messrs. J. Cart,wright, IT. Kerby, H. Donkin, W. 11. Aldis, W. Beec-h; match manager, Mr. P. Jensen.
