DALMATIAN CHARGED
ALLEGATION OF THEFT Charged with stealing £76 7s 6d, the property of Tonv Batislicli and others, a Dalmatian labourer, Steve Milat, aged 29, appeared in the Police Gourt on Thursday before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M. John Barbarich, a contractor, said he had sub-let a contract to six Dalmatians, of whom accused was one. On March 23 he and accused went to the bank where witness cashed a cheque for £9l. The cash was given to accused, to be divided anions the six men concerned. Tony Batislicli, labourer, said the six men were working on equal shares, and it whs agreed that accused should cash the cheque and pay each of the men some £ls. Accused, however, denied having received the money tor the other men, which had not been paid to the men. Accused, who was represented by Mr. Schramm, pleaded not guilty, and as committed to the Supreme Court *or trial. Bail of £2OO was renewed.
