LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

MOUNT ROSKILL The Mount Roskill branch of the League of Mothers met last week, Mrs. B. Bates presiding. Dr. Elaine Gungave an address on the subject of diet and digestion, which she illustrated by moving pictures. Mrs. J. Irvine, vicepresident of the branch, gave a comSrehensivo report on the League of [others' conference held earlier in the month. Tea was served by the committee. PONSONBY The monthly meeting of the Ponsonby branch was held this week, when Mrs. .English presided over a well-at-tended meeting. Mr. Rae, principal of the Training College, gave an interesting and instructive address on "Education," stressing the importance of tho co-operation of home and school in the training of the child. During the afternoon Mrs. Howard sang two vocal solos and Mrs. Hall gave the thought for the month. Afternoon tea brought an interesting meeting to a close. ST. HELIERS A well-attended meeting of the St. Heliers branch of the League of Mothers was held on Monday and was presided over by Mrs. St. Clair-Inglis. " Uncle Scrim " gave a very inspiring address 011 "The Friendly Road," and Mrs. ( Basil Clark sang an original song, specially written, with the same title as the talk. Mrs. Dudley Wrathal also gave very much pleasure with her singing, " Little Boy Don't Cry." Afternoon tea, given by Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Kel. Smith, Mrs. Le Grice and Mrs. Vickers, ended the meeting.
