AUCKLAND POLICE FORCE
TRANSFERS ANNOUNCED Several transfers of mombers of the police force in Auckland were announced .yesterday. Detective J. Bowman, who lias been stationed in Auckland for several years, will go to Napier. Constable A. T. Gillum, of Napier, who received recognition from the commissioner of police for his arrest three years ago of the two inoendiarists in Christchurch, arrived in Auckland yesterday morning. He is to bo an actingdetective. To take the place of Detective .T. 15. Findlav, who recently came to Auckland, Detective N. Kempt has been transferred to Christchurch. Another South Island officer, Detective W. JO. Turgis, was recently transferred from Dunedin to Auckland. Constable S. A. Audlev, of the central police station, lias been transferred to Tauranga.
