DESTRUCTIVE STORM
AMERICAN STATES SWEPT DEATH ROLL TOTALS 72 (Received April 2, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 1 Terrific winds, accompanied by rain, hail and lightning, killed several people on Thursday in East Texas, North-Wesc-ern Louisiana, and South-West Arkansas. No large cities were struck. Tho storm swept from Texas to Alabama yesterday and increased the death roll. It left hundreds of injured people and wrecked villages in its path. Floods are now threatened. To-day's reports show that 72 deaths have occurred, namely, 42 in Mississippi, 20 in Texas, nine in Louisana and ono in Arkansas.
